Dawn Pretty
As a child I painted horses and thought my beloved farm in Rhodesia was my future. Dreaming has always been my forte, although a much maligned occupation, I identify with Beatrix Potter in saying, "Thank God I have the seeing eye... as I lie in bed I can walk step by step on the fells and rough land seeing every stone and flower...where my old legs will never take me again." Loss is prevalent, loneliness cuts deep. I determined, from quite young to bring as much good to this turbulent world as I could, seeing the choice in that is at least given to us individually. Persuading inanimate paint to do something uplifting, conveying elusive qualities such as beauty and wholeness, affecting emotion, is a delicious challenge. I am intrigued by people and reflections that view into other dimensions, looked at but often not seen.
